I am Prashanthi Kumarasinghe. I created Pink Cake Boutique. I received my education from Siri Kurusa Convent in Gampaha and Visakha Vidyalaya in Colombo. I entered this business field through a business family background. So that is my personal information.

I first entered this field by making cakes for family and friends’ celebrations as a hobby. Because of the high response I received from them, I decided to study this professionally. I started the Pink Cake Boutique business with the knowledge gained from local and foreign courses.

4. How many wedding cake creations have you completed so far, and among them, which cake creation is the most special to you?
I have been creating cakes for 15 years, and I have made close to 5000 by now. Through exhibitions at shows held at BMICH over many years, I received a large number of customers. Among the special cakes I have created, the most unforgettable cake is the one I made for a couple who came from Australia, according to their request, in the design of the bride’s wedding dress, matching the bride’s height.
5 On a wedding day, how much does the couple’s cake design contribute to the beauty of that wedding? Your opinion.
At a wedding ceremony, one of the main elements that catches the guests’ eyes is the cake design. It is a very important thing to make it in a way that matches the theme of the wedding ceremony, the theme and colors of the bride’s and bridesmaids’ dresses. So the wedding cake at a wedding ceremony is truly another important factor that makes the wedding ceremony beautiful.
